Course Code: AV-SEC K-10 Initial/Recurrent

Purpose of Training: The main purpose of the course is to To ensure that personnel understand the importance of aviation security and are able to implement preventive and protective security measures at a standard level to protect civil aviation against illegal acts .

Target Audience: New entrants to the industry, Authorized agency and personnel who apply other security checks except the screening of air cargo/mail by the known sender.

Air cargo/mail security practices
Known shipper concept, Authorized cargo agency concept
Airport operator, aircraft operator, authorized cargo agencies   and responsibilities of known senders
Security manager responsibilities
Acceptance of cargo
From Known Shippers, Authorized Agencies, High Risk Cargo and Mail
Recognizing prohibited substances
Recognizing and identifying prohibited substances,
Recognizing the components of home/improvised explosive devices (IED), Procedures to be followed in case of detection of prohibited substances/threat ,
Methods of hiding/hiding prohibited substances
Separation of dangerous substances and prohibited substances
Confirmation/verification of shipments, documents and persons bringing the shipments
Procedures for unknown cargo (Scanning)
Protection of cargo
Physical protection (packaging in a way that makes it obvious when opened),
           Access control to facilities/warehouses, Access control to security restricted areas
Airport entry cards and inquiry procedures, Procedures for visitors and customers - Monitoring, Interrogation of unknown persons
Transportation of cargo and mail
What to do in case of a bomb report
Dealing with suspicious substances and emergencies, Incident reporting/reporting
Drivers' responsibilities,
Security of vehicles in facilities
Security checks before installation
Sealing/locking of vehicles, Security measures to be followed on the road

Duration of Training: Basic 1 Day (8 hours), Refresher 4 hours

Validity Period: 3 years

Prerequisites: Identity and Archive Criminal Record

Certificate: General Directorate of Civil Aviation DGCA approved certificate
